Apple Pay – which banks?

Apple Pay – which banks? Apple Pay is a convenient payment system, available almost everywhere where contactless cards are supported. To use it, however, we must link it to a bank account. Which banks provide this option?

How does Apple Pay work?

Apple Pay allows you to make payments in a way that is very similar to the one we use when paying with a contactless card – both payment and debit or credit. It’s just that the role of one card or another is played by an Apple device in this case. When the cashier or cashier enters the amount into the terminal, we then launch our electronic wallet on the phone, authenticate the payment and bring the iPhone closer to the reader. Payment is made as if the card was presented.

An important element is payment authentication – it is this stage that guarantees the security of the transaction. We perform such authentication using a facial recognition system, confirmation with a thumbprint, entering a special code or pressing the appropriate button on the Apple Watch. A payment problem can only occur if our bank fails or the device is broken. In the first case, contact the bank’s staff. In the second – repair the hardware, for example by replacing the iPhone 8 battery.

There is one more way to handle payments with Apple Pay. Namely, if we want to make a payment on some website, i.e., for example, buy a subscription or pay for a service, we can do it using the Apple browser. It is Safari.

We can make payments both from the level of the iPhone, iPad, but also from the Mac. In this case, we can confirm the payment in two ways. The first option is to confirm it using the paired phone or Apple Watch. It is therefore important to bear in mind that these devices must be fully functional. If this is not the case, it will be necessary to repair them, so, for example, replacing the iPhone 7 plus display or replacing the fast apple watch 3.

The second option is to confirm the payment using the iTouh area built into the computer. This is a part of the device housing to which we put a finger, usually a thumb. The device recognizes the unique pattern of our fingerprints and in this way we verify the payment. When can problems arise? First of all, when the device is broken and the reader does not work. Then we need to find a macbook service and return the computer for repair.

How to link Apple Pay with a bank account?

However, before we can enjoy the benefits of easy and secure payment, we need to set up our Apple Pay account. How to do it? We pay with Apple devices as we do with a card. So we have to go to the selected bank first, set up an account and get a card. Cards compatible with the Apple Pay system are:

      • Credit cards,
      • debit cards,
      • Credit cards,
      • Prepaid cards.

Having one of the above cards, we can add it to our Apple Pay account to use this payment method. We will do this using the following Apple devices:

      • iphone,
      • iPad,
      • Apple Watch,
      • Mac computer.

In most cases, we will need the Wallet app. In most devices it will be part of the default firmware. However, if we cannot find it on our device, we can easily find it in the App Store and download it for free.

Already the first board in the Wallet application will inform us about the need to add a card to a digital wallet, which is Apple Pay. How to do it? Just follow the on-screen instructions. They are very legible – the application guides us step by step through all the activities necessary to add a card. Depending on the device used and the type of card, the process may look slightly different.

In some situations, it is enough to take a picture of the card, and the Apple device itself will enter all the data on the card into the system. Otherwise, you may have to enter information into the form yourself.

What does not change is that always before using Apple Pay with a given card, the system waits for confirmation from the bank that such transactions are supported by the bank, and therefore possible. We usually get a response very quickly. The only problem preventing Apple Pay payment is therefore incompatibility with a given tank.

Of course, paying with this system is also not possible if the device that is to act as a card is damaged. Then Apple – an authorized service will come to our aid. To find one in our area, just search for an Apple repair point on the Internet, along with the name of the town in which we are located, i.e., for example: repair apple Szczecin.
